Adwords Killer Review – My Adwords Killer Case Study

Adwords Killer is another very popular Adwords guide that hit the market recently. This is my unbiased and critical Adwords Killer Review that will tell you exactly what you will find inside – and what you won’t.

Unless you have been living under a rock you know that there are dozes of Adwords Guides out there. All of them promise you that you can make a fortune. What I don’t like is that you keep reading the same stuff over and over – sometimes basics that you could get for free on the tutorial pages of Google Adwords.

Other Adwords books that I had previously bought include Google Cash, Adwords Miracle, Affiliate Project X, Day job killer, Adwordelite and The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords by Perry Marshall. If you add up the price for all of them you know I spent a lot of money.

So my million dollar question really is: Does Adwords Killer offer any new tricks or strategies that you haven’t seen yet in any other guides or is it just the usual stuff (Split-testing ads, Tight ad-grouping etc.)?

Adwords Killer has 81 pages and it does cover some of the basics, but the major part of the guide consists of new and innovative tactics that cannot be found in other books. Maybe that’s because the other authors preferred to keep those tricks for themselves – maybe it is because they were not aware of them. I don’t know.

So what does Adwords Killer cover what other Adwords Guides don’t?

Negative Keywords

This is one of the highlights of the book. Everybody tells you to include the negative keyword –free in your ads. Adwords Killer goes far beyond that. The author gives you a comprehensive list of 47 negative keywords that have statistically proven to make campaigns unprofitable. Most of them I had never considered. But once you think about it – it seems so obvious. He also tells you exactly when and how to use negative keywords and how to avoid a common mistake many people make when using negative keyword phrases consisting of more than one word.

Campaign Tuning

Campaign Tuning means you constantly improve your campaigns to make them better and more profitable over time. This is something that others don’t mention at all – although the very popular Adwords Miracle does tell you a little about campaign tuning but not enough.

Adwords Killer tells you how to use advanced keyword tracking using log files – which only applies if you have your own landing page – and how to know if a campaign has reached its maximum profit potential. This is something that really made me totally turn around some of my campaigns. One of my campaigns that was losing money before now makes $25 each and every day.

CPC Kill Technique for Campaign Defense

Recently certain Adwords products have started to show you how to nuke or steal other people’s campaigns. Adwords Killer is the first guide to show you how to protect an evil advertiser from stealing your keywords and attacking your campaign. This will become more and more important since too many advertisers out there just try to spot a profitable niche and then just copy your ad. The CPC Kill Technique tells you exactly how to keep other advertisers out of a niche that you have occupied and that you want to keep it for yourself.

Site Targeting Secrets

This was completely new for me. I must admit that I had always switched off the content network, like most of the other gurus said and focused only on keyword targeting. This section alone for me was worth the price of Adwords Killer many times over since it tells you exactly how to use the site targeting feature to make a $10 per day campaign into a 50$ per day campaign. The good thing: As with site targeting there is almost no competition out there yet, so up to this point this is easy money.

Bidding Secrets and Position Preference

Adwords Killer shows you a method to outbid any competitor only spending the minimum amount of cash. More important it shows you how to use the position preference feature from Adwords (rarely used by anyone) to maximize your conversions. Yes, I knew that it was no good to be in the number one position for a keyword, because you get too many people who click out of curiosity but don’t buy. What surprised me was the exact position your ad should be in to get fewer clicks but much higher conversions.

I would recommend Adwords Killer if you are already a little familiar with Google Adwords and are looking for more powerful tactics to boost your profits or if you currently have some Adwords campaigns running that are unprofitable. If you are a total newbie, don’t buy this book – if you are already familiar with Adwords – Adwords Killer will turn you into an experienced Adwords advertiser that 99% of other advertisers cannot compete with. Even if you are very experienced like I am Adwords Killer will have some tricks that you didn’t know. Applying only one of them can pay the price of the book many times over.

The use of these advanced tactics is what can separate a winning campaign from a losing one and an affiliate marketer who makes some money from an Adwords Pro who makes a killing.

Honestly I would not want to compete in a niche with another advertiser who uses the tricks laid out in Adwords Killer. Get it here: http://www.adwordkiller.com

Are You Ready For Your Own Income Generating Membership Site?

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment

Everyone would jump at the chance to have a membership site that brings in a monthly recurring income and have to do only a minimum amount of work if any at all.

Clue me in as to what the “membership site” is all about!

You are absolutely right! A membership site provides the same service for a group of people who have the same need or interest.

As long as they retain their membership, you will charge these people monthly, quarterly or yearly or whatever the terms of your contract with them states for using your service.

This is not like a one time sale offer for which you continually need to find new customers for. You will also not need to come up with any new products to upsell the current ones that are available. A membership site business will give you a reliable, stable and steady income each and every month. In order to keep your clients happy and turn them into a royalty customer depends upon your service to them.

If you are a good Internet marketer, you will need to have a membership site of your very own. You may never have thought about running your own membership site, but it attracts customers like flies to honey and in some ways it is easier to manage than the typical affiliate sites.

The goal of an affiliate marketer is to build a strong customer list. When you have a membership site, it is an excellent means of getting that list built up fast. The all important list is usually what a membership site is composed of – interested people who want to return to see what is being offered. People may join a membership site for a number of reasons. They may want to subscribe to a newsletter that you offer, they may be glad to get several things that they want all in one convenient place, or it may be something as simple as loving the font that you use on your site. No matter what the reason for their joining, members can be charged a monthly fee in order to get access to what you have to offer. This generally will consist of articles, services that are available to them, a customer service line for questions and problems and a forum to tie everything together.

When you have a steady stream of members who are paying you monthly, then it is easy to meet your monthly income goals. This can be in addition to any affiliate sales, or it may be used in place of them. Some affiliate marketers love to build their membership site rather than keep several different affiliate websites going. A membership site is able to be marketed more easily than several smaller affiliate websites.

Some membership sites on the Internet use their affiliate marketing programs to attract new clients. For members who bring in other new paying members, a flat fee or commission is given to them. This can also be done by waiving part of the membership fee for those members who wish to recruit. This does not cost the site owner anything, and it brings in new clientele at an exponential rate. Using a system like this, one can get large membership numbers much more quickly and it is also less expensive.

Membership sites are a safe way to protect against sales slumps. In a month that has a low sales volume, you can experience a cushion by a steady income of recurring monthly membership fees. If you happen to experience problems with your smaller sites, such as losing your search engine rankings or if a product of yours bites the dust, then the larger site can step in and make up for any lost income.

There are also free membership sites on the Internet that are set up in the same way, but these sites try to attract members by not charging any fees. The income that these sites will realize is in trying to obtain the largest list possible in order to market to in the hopes of getting sales. Having a free membership site will not bring in the recurring membership fees, but, in the long run, it will have a wider membership. Whether you wish to charge to have people enter your website or not, if you have a membership site, this is a strong marketing technique that will help to brand not only your information but your products as well.

How To Use Article Marketing To Help Your Business

The viral affect of article marketing is a benefit that I love about this method of promotion. It’s like an added bonus that comes along with article marketing. The viral affect can not be predicted, which is why I think of it as somewhat of a bonus rather than something I expect from submitting my articles to directories.

When I decide to write an article, I’m writing so that someone will find it interesting and insightful. The greater the number of people that find this, results in a greater benefit for me and my website or whatever it is that I’m promoting. This occurs in mainly three ways:

- The reader clicks on my link in the resource box area and I benefit from direct article directory traffic.

- The reader feels that the article may also interest a friend and forwards it to them.

- The reader feels that the article would be a good addition to their website or may interest their ezine readers and decides to publish it.

This is the viral effect of article marketing, especially the last point that I’ve made. Not only can I then carry on benefiting from the article in ways that the article directory provides, but I also benefit from visitors being referred from the site of the reader who decided to publish the article. Plus, don’t forget I’m also increasing my website’s backlinks in the meantime.

Article marketing provides benefits that many other website promotional methods do not have. For instance, submitting your website URL to link directories has no viral affect (however it is still an important part of website promotion and link building).

Another important part of article marketing is the ability it provides for authors to show their knowledge and expertise in a subject area. Writing an informative article allows the author to provide an insight into what the reader can find if they follow the link at the end of the article. It can also place the reader in a certain mindset before even seeing your website if they trust what the article says and it provides trustworthy and factual information.

There are many aspects that contribute to the success that any particular article can bring an author. Article title, topic, grammar, layout, word count, and resource box are just a few of the contributing factors. Write articles that tick all of the right boxes and you could benefit from the viral affect that article marketing possesses. However, write poor articles and expect poor results and the viral affect of article marketing to be non-existent.

On that same note, it is very difficult to try to write articles on multiple subjects because people that find the articles are going to want to know how someone who has articles on two different topics can have expertise in both topics. That’s not to say it’s impossible to know a lot about more than one subject, but knowing your subject is perhaps more important than even being a strong writer.

Article Marketing Issues

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Article Marketing

A problem with article marketing in the 21st century is actually its popularity. What has happened in the last few years is that people that consider themselves good writers or good researchers are writing articles on subjects that they think they know. The writers are trying to increase their SEO rankings and end up writing articles that are weak in terms of content because they want their name/blog to appear on Google and Yahoo searches. In a best-case scenario, article marketing will consist of a good writer providing content on a subject that they have an intimate knowledge about.

Before the Internet made writing more of an entrepreneurial venture, most article marketing was done by business owners to get people to purchase whatever the business person is selling. What a business person would do when they submit an article to a website, if possible, is to provide links to other articles that are relevant to their business. A writer may link to other articles that they have written or if they are lucky the site itself will link to other articles by that writer.

Another important part of article marketing is biographies. A writer that posts an article to a website often times is required to write a biography. A biography is important because a well-written biography will attract consumers to your business. A well-written biography that hits all of the “right notes” in terms of SEO will both drive traffic to your article and more consumers. Besides biographies, something else that is very important is headlines. Associatedcontent.com is a content website that asks that its writers provide a headline that will drive traffic to its website.

If someone writes a weak headline, the site may ask you to revise said headline no matter what the content is. There are article marketing websites that help businesses create several links to their content. One such website is articlemarketing.net.
Another article marketing tool is the resource box. That is an area at the end of an article that allows the author to link to other relevant articles, their biography, your main website (or websites, but there should not be too many links to websites), your USP (unique selling proposition) and a call to action. The latter two tells the reader why they should be the product that is being sold by the writer.

The research box is basically where someone “completes” the sale of their product after setting the stage with the article. Many people/businesses use the research box to put their e-mail address or phone number so potential consumers can contact them right away. There is a theory that in order to benefit from article marketing, a writer has to produce more than 200 articles.
In other words, a writer that is not committed to improving his/her search engine rankings by constantly producing content will not reap the benefits that article marketing can potentially provide. While the articles need to be strong in content and context, quantity is also very important.

What’s Hurting Article Marketing?

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Article Marketing

Something that is hurting article marketing in modern times is that it is so easy to do. In the last decade, people are using the Internet for article marketing and they are even trying to provide content on subjects based on little research. The best way to get your name to show up in Google and Yahoo searches is to produce a lot of content. Many times a writer may want to produce content on popular subjects because it could drive their SEO rankings.

The problem with that is that without intimate knowledge of a subject a writer will not have lasting popularity and eventually the person will be exposed as not having an intimate knowledge of anything that he/she is writing about. That worry is for those that use writing in and of itself to make money. For those who write to sell a product, the writing itself is not as important and of course the writer would have more knowledge on the subject. The most effective article marketing consists of a quality writer providing content on a topic that they know about.

Before there were websites that allowed for the writing itself to be a business opportunity, most article marketing was done by business men and women to get people to be interested whatever they might be selling. If a travel agent wrote an article about the restaurants in Florida, there would be links to that person’s other writings after the restaurant article.

Another important part of article marketing would be biographies. A writer that produces an article for a website will usually write an autobiography. A biography is crucial because if it written well, then one will probably get more customers. A strong biography that can also ensure that the writer will show up in SEO searches by name. Another key to article marketing is producing quality headlines. Associatedcontent.com is a content website that asks that its writers provide a headline that will drive traffic to its website. If someone writes a poor headline, the site may ask you to revise the headline even if the content is good. There are article marketing websites that help people create several links to their content.

Another article marketing tool is the resource box. That is the place at the end of an article that allows the writer to link to other relevant articles, their autobiography, the writers’ most important website the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and a call to action. The final two tells the reader why they should buy the product that is being sold by the writer. The research box is basically where the writer puts the finishing touches in terms of marketing their product after setting the stage with the article.

Most people use the research box to put their e-mail address or phone number so readers can contact them right away. There is a theory that in order to benefit from article marketing, a writer has to produce close to 300 articles. Someone that is interested in article marketing that is not willing to put the work in as far as their SEO rankings by constantly producing content will not benefit from article marketing as much as someone else that is willing to constantly produce articles would. While the articles need to be strong in content and context, quantity is also very important.

Article Marketing And Its Popularity

An issue with article marketing in modern times is actually how many people are involved in it. In the last 10 years those that believe they have knowledge of a subject or can research a subject are trying to create online content to get noticed. They are attempting to increase their Search Engine Optimization exposure, which means weaker articles and sometimes weaker writing as the writer tries to make up for a passing knowledge of the subject that is being written about. Ideally, article marketing will be a strong writer that knows the topic that they writing about.

Prior to the explosion of online exposure, which made writing more of business opportunity in and of it self, a lot of article marketing was produced by business people to get entities to buy the goods/material that the writer wants them to buy. If someone writes an article for a website, the website would in many cases link to other articles that are produced by the same writer. In other cases the website will link to other articles that are similar in nature, but written by other writers. That of course doesn’t help the writer of the initial content.

Another key factor of article marketing is an autobiography of the writer. A writer that posts an article to a website many times will produce an autobiography. An autobiography is important because a strong autobiography will attract customers to your website and what you are selling. A strong autobiography that is rich in SEO content will allow for those that perform web searches to be able to find the content producer easily. Other than autobiographies, another key element is headline writing.

Associatedcontent.com is a site that tells its content producers to give a headline that will attract traffic to associatedcontent.com. Associatedcontent.com will tell someone that writes a bad headline to write it again or they won’t be able to print the content. Articlemarketing.net is a website that helps those interested to find a way to not only write the content, but produce it for the correct websites as well.

Another way to take advantage of article marketing tool is using a resource box. That is the part after the conclusion of the piece that would allow the writer to do several things such as link to other relevant writing, an autobiography, a primary website (sometimes a writer may have more than one), a USP (unique selling proposition) and a reason that a consumer should buy the product that is being sold. The last two tells the potential consumer why they should buy the product that the content producer is trying to sell.

The research box is basically where the writer “finishes” the selling whatever he has to sell, with the article itself being the prelude. Entities use the research box to put contact information in so new customers can contact them if they are interested. Article marketing experts say that a writer should not expect results by just writing 25-50 articles, 250 is a goal a writer should set in order to make money.
Someone that is not ready to make a full commitment to producing quality, consistent content will not be an effective article marketer. While the articles need to be well-written, good writing in and of itself will not create buzz unless it is done consistently.

How To Index And Maintain Your Pages In The Search Engines

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment
Filed under: SEO

Who controls the Internet? Don’t be surprised if we say it’s the major search engine (SE) companies. While it gets more baffling to keep up with their ever-changing algorithms or whatever criteria (as and when they like it) and more convenient to label them as notorious for indexing your web pages only to see them suddenly dropped altogether, there are at least some things you can do to maintain your SE visibility in the long term.

1) Create a sitemap. This sitemap page contains all possible links to sections that make up your site’s overall structure. Submit this page and you are submitting the whole site to be spidered, not just the home page.

2) Keep your site flat. As far as spider algorithm goes, it’s not easy to register web pages more than 3 levels deep. Pages that are too deep are considered insignificant and submitting them can be detriment to your site’s overall ranking status. Focus on building significant sections of your sites, create a sitemap pointing to these sections and let the spiders search for themselves.

3) Submit everywhere except the major SEs. There are hundreds of minor SEs you can submit your site to, but as your site gets more prolific, soon the spiders from Google, Yahoo, MSN, AllTheWeb, Hotbot, AOL, Teoma and Lycos will take notice and see it for themselves. Sites ‘naturally’ caught by spiders are seen as quality content, will rank highly and less likely to drop.

4) Avoid CGI-generated pages. These type of pages usually contain symbols like a question mark and ampersand to separate parameters. A typical URL would look like: http://www.sitename.com/cgi-bin/pagename.pl?cat=gardens&subcat=japanese

If you observe search results from time to time, most major engines refuse to index these pages. Wherever possible, create non-CGI pages. They give no clues that they are instantly and artificially ‘churned’ out which is exactly what spiders are looking for to censure. Pages employing dynamic technologies like PHP, XML etc. are just fine.

5) Cultivate your site. As long as you add in fresh content, spiders will take notice and come back just as often. Spiders seem to use a ‘trained’ schedule to learn that your site always stays up-to-date and come back to take a look. Update less often and the spidering frequency lessens.

6) Linking strategies. More than just one-to-one manual link exchanges, you will find every possible way to submit articles, give testimonials, comment in blogs, participate in forums etc. all for the sake of creating link-backs to your site by leaving your signature behind. To put it bluntly, hijack other people’s web space to create backward links. If your pages don’t show up, at least your keywords or domain name shown from other sites will.

7) Create a mini-web. Build mini-sites around an overall and similar theme and link them together interdependently. This pattern of incoming links here and there establishes and builds up each site’s link popularity:, and links from same-subject websites are now ranked higher in the search engines than they do if stand-alone.

Selling Article Marketing

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Article Marketing

Article marketing is basically selling you or your product using content. What is created is done so because a writer wants to drive people to his/her business. A large percentage of the time article marketing is free for the media that posts it, the provider of the content and the reader. Because it will benefit the provider of the content to have people read said content, there is no charge to the reader in terms of a la carte or subscription. An example of article marketing would be a fantasy sports fan writing an article giving fantasy sports picks for the week or even for the year. Especially a fantasy sports expert that can make money from his expertise.

Article marketing is actually an old school concept of marketing. As mentioned above, no one involved in the article marketing has to pay any money. Everyone from the reader, to the specific media outlet, to the marketer benefits from not involving money in the initial article writing. The media gets some material for its paper, magazine or website, the reader gets information and the person engaging in the online marketing gets more readers.

Article marketing is currently mostly Internet based as opposed to years ago where it was mostly print based. One of the most important things in article marketing is keywords. When someone produces content to entice a potential customer to subscribe to their website, there has to be certain phrases within said content that will make it easier for the person’s content to show up on search engines.

If you want to make money off of people, the best way to do it is to make sure that those people can find the product that is being sold. The exact words being used are very important in terms of driving SEO. Article marketing will not be as effective without the right keywords being used. Another factor in terms of article marketing is having your content read by the people that will most likely buy into what is being sold by the article.

Something else to keep in mind when it comes to article marketing is that if a person writes an article for a website such as associatedcontent.com, the article may end up on other websites sometimes without the writer’s knowledge. That can be positive for the writer because content that appears on several different websites exposes the writer to more potential consumers. An entity that produces content should be well-versed in the topic they are writing on because then the reader will see that and come back for more articles on the same subject.

With that said, it can be hard to try to create content on more than one topic because those that find the articles online or in the newspaper are going to be curious about how a person that had content on several subjects would be an expert in both. Knowing your subject is even more important than being a good writer in most cases.

Use Adwords For Free? A Review Of Get Google Ads Free By Dr. Jon Cohen

October 31, 2009 by homebus · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Internet Marketing

The most difficult thing about having a web business is getting traffic to your site. So many products out there hold the claim that they are an easy sell. That may be true but if you have no one to buy it, you’re back to square one. And of course there’s the internet buzz term out there: “the money is in the list.” That, also, is very true. With a loyal list of targeted customers, you can promote your product to an already hungry audience that will most likely buy from you because you have earned their trust. But once again, if you have no traffic, you have no chance of getting leads that can grow your “list.” Even if you have the best newsletter, the best free products and a killer website, without traffic, you do not exist.

Many gurus show ways of increasing your traffic through article marketing, social networking, blogging, search engine optimization and dozens of other techniques. While these are good strategies for long term traffic building, most get into an internet business because of the opportunity to make a profit quickly. Let’s face it: most of us know that establishing anything worthwhile is going to take time. But the endless testimonials attached to products about how some “newbie” made five thousand dollars in their first month can transform even the most sensible being into an irrational fortune seeker. While many of the previously mentioned traffic generation techniques cost little to nothing to implement, they do take time. And it can be difficult to do the work necessary to build your business when it can take months before you have something to show for that work. So what else can a marketer do? They can buy advertising, of course!

As there are many free ways to increase your traffic, there are as many if not more ways to pay for traffic? So which is the easiest and most effective? In my opinion, that would be AdWords by Google. AdWords is probably the most comprehensive and user friendly advertising system that you will find. It has keyword generators, the ability to test and track ads and ways to further pinpoint your targeted market. The drawback? It’s quite easy to lose your shirt advertising with AdWords. This causes many internet marketers to look elsewhere for advertising. But AdWords works, and by not utilizing this tool, many marketers are shooting themselves in the foot and are spending money of other types of paid advertising that doesn’t deliver the same type of return on their investment as AdWords would.

Fortunately, I’ve found a system that allows you to take full advantage of AdWords like the “big boys” do, but without the risk. It’s called Get Google Ads Free and is written by Dr. Jon Cohen. His program takes a technique routinely used by offline marketers and adapts it to online use in order to take advantage of the precise target marketing ability of AdWords. In his 124 page book, Dr. Cohen shows the reader how he came up with the idea, how to best integrate it into your current marketing efforts and how to best position your efforts so that you don’t spend a dime out of pocket on your AdWords campaigns.

He also explains his method for generating mulitple income streams without having a product or service of your own. He compares the revenue your site could earn with his method as compared to AdSense. Dr. Cohen also gives links to other sites to get you started using his method, most of which are free to use. Also included are tips on how to pick the best keywords and ads (the information given in this section may surprise you) and a free service to get your free AdWords campaign started. The information is constantly being updated so not only do you have access to his free newsletter but access to updates and (my favorite) a “quick-start” guide.

The only drawback, in my opinion, is that while on the sales page it implies that a beginner could succeed with this program, it is helpful if you know the basics of uploading and creating web pages. But even this is covered, briefly, in the Get Google Ads Free program. there are links to website and web page tutorials and a free website creation tool Don’t let the hype of the sales page blind you though; it is a great program that is concise and powerful.

Dr. Cohen’s Get Google Ads Free solves the problem of getting targeted traffic to your site by putting together one of the most revolutionary advertising techniques that is on the internet today. So much time, energy and money is spent on advertising that could be spent on improving the quality of products and websites. But the Get Google Ads Free program levels the playing field for all internet marketers. More importantly, it takes the sting out of using AdWords. I believe this proven system will change the way advertising is done on the internet. The techniques included in this program has helped thousands realize their online business goals. Will you be next?
